Job summary

TRI-CENTURY EYE CARE PC seeks an Ophthalmic Technician Trainer to lead a structured, competency-based program guiding new technicians from Observation through Specialty Assignments. The role blends clinical oversight with mentorship and education to ensure proficiency at each stage.

The trainer will oversee documentation, performance reviews, and progression across four stages, coaching staff and coordinating with providers to maintain high standards of patient care and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong patient interaction and communication skills.
• Proficient in diagnostic testing and vision assessments.
• Ability to mentor, teach, and supervise trainees across learning stages.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, MIPS, and regulatory standards.
• Excellent documentation and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and document technician training through four competency stages.
• Coordinate scheduling for training sessions and evaluations.
• Provide one-on-one coaching and skills assessments.
• Maintain training records and progress reports.
• Collaborate with managers and providers to align training with clinical workflow.
