Discover Vision Centers in the Kansas City area is seeking Ophthalmic Technicians to join a team focused on delivering outstanding patient care. You will participate in preliminary testing and assist the clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient flow.

We offer comprehensive training and opportunities to grow within a expanding eye-care network, with occasional float to the Harrisonville clinic as needed. This role requires a high school diploma, solid data-entry skills, and preferred ophthalmic

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong computer and data entry skills.
• One year of medical or ophthalmic office experience preferred.
• COA or COT certification preferred, but not required for otherwise qualified candidates.
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with professionalism, assist with check-in, and provide excellent service throughout their visit.
• Verify and record patient information, medical history, medications, and purpose of visit.
• Perform preliminary testing including visual acuity, pupil assessment, refraction, dilation, intraocular pressure, and extraocular movement testing.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures such as OCT, visual fields, GDX, IOL Master, auto-refractor, and corneal topography.
• Demonstrate knowledge of ocular anatomy, diseases, symptoms, and medications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring exam rooms and equipment are patient-ready.
• Support the clinical team with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
