Job summary

Discover Vision Centers is seeking a Lead Ophthalmic Technician in the Kansas City area to lead a team of technicians across multiple locations. The role focuses on supervising staff, coordinating training, and maintaining high standards of patient care within a fast-paced ophthalmology setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must possess strong computer skills.
• Ophthalmic Technician experience required.
• COA or COT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises technical staff and conducts annual/performance evaluations.
• Involves training and disciplinary actions under supervision of management.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and oversees data accuracy.
• Schedules staff and ensures adequate clinic flow across locations.
• Oversees equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance scheduling.
• Assists with check-in/check-out and patient inquiries.
• Performs patient workups and diagnostic testing as required.
• Supports team with patient care and service excellence.
