Job summary

Discover Vision Centers is seeking Ophthalmic Technicians to join Kansas City’s leading eye care team. You’ll receive comprehensive technician training and work with top eye care professionals to deliver exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities include welcoming patients, performing preliminary testing, and assisting with diagnostic procedures. COA/COT certification is preferred but not required for qualified candidates, with a strong emphasis on patient care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication and patient-service orientation.
• Data entry and computer skills required.
• Experience in ophthalmic or medical office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with professionalism and assist with check-in.
• Verify and record patient information and medical history.
• Perform preliminary testing (visual acuity, pupil assessment, refraction, dilation, IOP, extraocular movement).
• Conduct diagnostic procedures (OCT, visual fields, GDX, IOL Master, auto-refractor, corneal topography).
• Demonstrate knowledge of ocular anatomy, diseases, and medications.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and equipment; prep patient-ready space.
• Support clinical team with administrative duties.
