Job summary

Discover Vision Centers in the Kansas City area is hiring Ophthalmic Technicians to join a team focused on exceptional patient experiences. You will assist with check-in, perform tests, and support the clinical staff in a fast-paced eye care setting.

Candidates should have a High school diploma or GED, strong computer skills, and ideally one year of ophthalmic office experience. COA/COT preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong computer and data entry skills.
• One year of medical or ophthalmic office experience preferred.
• COA or COT certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with professionalism, assist with check-in, and provide excellent service throughout their visit.
• Verify and record patient information, medical history, medications, and purpose of visit.
• Perform preliminary testing including visual acuity, pupil assessment, refraction, dilation, intraocular pressure, and extraocular movement testing.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures such as OCT, visual fields, GDX, IOL Master, auto-refractor, and corneal topography.
• Demonstrate knowledge of ocular anatomy, diseases, symptoms, and medications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring exam rooms and equipment are patient-ready.
• Support the clinical team with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
