Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to assist in patient care within established policies. You will support ophthalmic testing, record patient vitals, and help prepare for examinations and minor procedures in a busy clinic.

Responsibilities include assisting doctors, performing advanced ophthalmic tests, and ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR. Preference given to candidates with JCAHPO training and EpicCare experience.

Qualifications

• Two years in an Ophthalmic Technician capacity or completion of a JCAHPO accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients for chief complaints and obtain ophthalmic history.
• Perform ophthalmic testing (vision, pupil, lensometry, IOP, perimetry, OCT, HRT).
• Assist in examinations, minor procedures, and intravitreal injections.
• Prepare and maintain exam lanes, instruments, and sterilization procedures.
• Document in EMR and coordinate with the clinical team.
• Attend education and safety modules as required.
