Actalent is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician in New Haven, CT to support a busy ophthalmology clinic. You will prepare patients, perform specialized tests, maintain equipment, and assist with scheduling and care coordination.

The role involves operating ophthalmic equipment, coordinating with clinicians, and ensuring high-quality eye care services in a fast-paced environment. On-site, full-time hours with standard clinic scheduling.

Qualifikationen

• Health care or medical office experience, with 12 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting, or at least 3 years of relevant ophthalmology experience.
• EPIC EMR experience for documenting patient information and supporting clinical operations.
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician credential (preferred and essential for the advanced track).
• Refraction experience performed under supervision and in ophthalmology settings.

Aufgaben

• Inform patients about ophthalmic procedures in a clear, compassionate, professional manner.
• Review patient charts and physician notes prior to examinations.
• Set up, operate, and maintain ophthalmic equipment for tests and procedures.
• Monitor equipment and liaise with repair personnel for timely resolution.
• Perform quality control checks on ophthalmic equipment and maintain logs.
• Order and manage inventory of clinical supplies and ensure material availability.
• Handle disposal inventory following department protocols and safety standards.
• Assist with scheduling, follow-up visits, and front‑ and back‑office workflows.
• Provide direct patient care support including basic triage activities.
• Conduct refractions and other diagnostic procedures as directed by leadership.
• Document encounters in EPIC and support efficient operations.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses for patient‑centered care.
