Job summary

Florida Vision Institute in Stuart, Florida is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join a multi-specialty ophthalmology practice. The role includes preparing patients for exams, conducting preliminary testing, and supporting physicians during procedures.

Travel to other locations may be required to support clinical needs. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, basic computer literacy, and 1–2 years in a multi-specialty clinic.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Must be willing to travel to other offices occasionally to meet the demands of business.
• Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) preferred but not required.
• One to two years’ experience in multi-specialty clinic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for examination and assist ophthalmologist/optometrist.
• Conduct preliminary exams and collect patient history.
• Perform pre-exam testing and various vision measurements.
• Assist with diagnostic testing and imaging (OCT, photography).
• Support with minor surgical and laser procedures in the office.
