ReFocus Eye Health in King of Prussia, PA is seeking an organized healthcare support professional to greet patients, take histories, and transcribe physician notes into the EHR. The role supports physicians during exams and ensures accurate documentation of tests and visits.

The ideal candidate will handle patient flow, maintain confidentiality, and assist technicians as needed, including preparing supplies and sterilizing equipment per guidelines.

Qualifications

• Familiar with electronic health records (EHR) and medical terminology.
• Ability to greet patients warmly and collect patient history.
• Accurate transcription of physician dicta into EHR.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
• Obtains patient history and transcribes results into our EHR as physician(s) orally dictate during patient exam.
• Records physician(s) fee tickets in EHR as physician(s) orally dictate during patient exam.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Escorts patients to appropriate area.
• Assists physician(s) by obtaining supplies as needed during patient care.
• Assistance to Technician as needed.
• Performs visual acuity tests on patients.
• Performs autorefraction and lensometry tests as needed.
• Performs tonometry on patients.
• Determines if patient needs further testing by technician.
• Performs visual field testing, glare testing, color vision testing, Schirmer's tear testing.
• Reviews patient charts and posts tests and examination results into EHR.
• Cleans and sterilize equipment and maintain autoclave.
• Demonstrates ability to work with geriatric patients.
• Stocking of supplies.
• Cleaning of patient exam rooms.
• Ensures safety policies and procedures.
• Check expiration of medications and supplies and follow-up as appropriate.
