Job summary

Brooks Eye Associates in Plano, TX is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to provide chairside assistance and administer treatment ordered by the doctor, while preparing exam rooms and guiding patients. You will perform data collection, pre-exam testing, refractions, and accurately record all information in the EMR, upholding patient confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; ophthalmic technician or medical assistant experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and staff.
• Ability to type at least 45 WPM and document accurately in EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance and prepare exam rooms for doctors.
• Perform pre-exam testing, data collection, refractions, and other patient services.
• Accurately record information in the EMR and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assist in daily office tasks and collaborate across departments as needed.
