Job summary

Louisiana Eye & Laser Center is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support patient flow and assist physicians with extensive ophthalmic data collection. You will perform a wide range of tests, document findings, and help ensure patient and doctor satisfaction.

The role requires standing for long periods, teamwork, attention to detail and a willingness to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Acquaints new patients with office procedures and explains purpose of tests.
• Obtains patient history including chief complaint, past ocular and general history, allergies and medications.
• Performs documentation and measurements: visual fields, pachymetry, auto-refraction, corneal topography, lensometry, visual acuity, EOM, refractions and pupil assessment.
• Determines next patient to be tested and escorts them; maintains smooth flow to physicians.
• Keeps exam/work-up rooms clean, stocked and prepared; opens/closes rooms daily.
