The Eye Institute of West Florida in Largo, FL is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to assist physicians, perform preliminary testing, and support patient flow in a fast-paced ophthalmology/optometry setting.

Requirements include a High School Diploma; ophthalmology experience preferred; bilingual English/Spanish a plus; HIPAA compliance; willingness to work over 40 hours and travel to other offices as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in ophthalmology/optometry preferred but not required.
• COA/COT certification is a plus.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in preliminary testing.
• Verify medical and vision insurances.
• Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers.
• Answer inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests.
• Record patient data in the EMR.
• Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures.
