Job summary

Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center is seeking an ophthalmic assistant to support physicians in eye examinations and treatments. Duties include preparing exam rooms, reviewing schedules, and performing basic vision screenings.

Responsibilities also cover administering eye medications, maintaining ophthalmic instruments, and assisting during minor surgeries, with a requirement for BLS or acquisition within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or GED.
• BLS certification required or within 6 months of employment.
• One of: 1 year eye practice, 1 year Medical Assistant, or graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in eye exam and treatment; prepare rooms and instruments.
• Review appointment schedules and perform basic vision screening.
