Job summary

Retina Associates of Kentucky is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists by performing initial testing and patient prep. This role requires assisting with exams, documenting medical history, and communicating with patients and staff in a fast-paced setting.

Travel is required: Somerset, Danville, and Lexington locations with mileage reimbursement. Training provided; no prior eye care experience necessary. Full benefits and 401k are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly with a smile and thank them on exit.
• Practice urgency with patient and doctor time.
• Comply with HIPAA and company policies.
• Verify patient information by interviewing patients.
• Record medical history and medications; confirm visit purpose.
• Enter data into EMR.
• Assess eyes via pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and movements.
• Perform tests: dilation, refraction, pressures, visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor, topo.
