Ohio State University Physicians is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join a multi-site ophthalmology team in Columbus. The role emphasizes high-quality, compassionate patient care, accurate history taking, and prepared examinations for physicians.

The position requires appropriate ophthalmic training, ability to perform field tests and imaging, and proficient EMR documentation. Travel to other clinical facilities may be required, with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of OSUP Ophthalmic Personnel Training Program.
• COA or COT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts professionally and compassionately with patients daily.
• Performs diagnostic Visual Field Testing: Humphrey, Octopus and Goldman Fields.
• Clinical imaging: OCT, HRT, Pachymetry, Topography and IOL Master.
• Enters information into the Electronic Medical Record.
• Transports patients within the facility to additional departments.
• Assists with rooming patients and stocking/disinfecting rooms.
• Provides assistance to Physicians and Ophthalmic Technicians in the clinic.
• Initiates patient exams and prepares for physician appointments.
• Documents medical history, symptoms, and medications.
• Performs related patient service and may travel to other facilities.
