Job summary

Carolina Macula and Retina in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking an ophthalmic or optometric technician. The role offers exposure to advanced imaging and hands-on patient care in a physician-led retina practice.

We value accuracy, teamwork, and a proactive attitude. 1+ year experience preferred; COA certification preferred or required depending on candidate. Full-time, in-person arrangement with no weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience as an ophthalmic or optometric technician preferred.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification required.
• Experience with EMR documentation and diagnostic imaging preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient workups including visual acuity, IOP, patient history, and medication review.
• Scribe in EMR during patient visits.
• Assist with OCT and diagnostic imaging.
• Assist the physician with intravitreal injections, lasers, and minor procedures.
• Support patient flow and ensure a smooth clinic experience.
• Cross-train in insurance authorization or front desk support when needed.
