Job summary

EyeSouth Partners is seeking an ophthalmic technician to support ophthalmologists and optometrists in a busy Pensacola clinic. You will gather patient data, perform tests, and document findings in the EMR, contributing to accurate charting and patient care.

The role requires experience in eye-care testing, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining clinic standards and patient safety. Comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• COA Eligibility preferred.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Review patient chart to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Perform testing ordered by doctor and determined by exam type.
• Act as medical scribe and enter data into electronic medical records.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications under physician direction.
• Assist with simple in-office procedures and obtain informed consent.
• Assist with patient education.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of exam rooms.
• Comply with practice procedures and regulations and with reporting requirements.
• Understand documentation for quality reporting and testing frequency restrictions.
