Job summary

EyeSouth Partners seeks an ophthalmic technician to assist ophthalmologists and optometrists, gather ocular health data, and perform clinical tests. The role includes scribing in the EMR, recording histories, and administering medications under supervision.

Requires strong communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced clinic, and foundational ophthalmic testing knowledge. Raleigh offices offer a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• COA Eligibility preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as uncertified ophthalmic assistant preferred.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient chart to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
• Perform testing ordered by doctor and determined by exam type, history, or patient condition.
• Enter data into EMR as a medical scribe under physician supervision.
• Administer ophthalmic medications as directed by the physician.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and ensure proper informed consent for procedures.
