Under the supervision of the department supervisor, the Ophthalmic Technician II plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive ophthalmic care. Responsibilities include assisting physicians in gathering patient data, maintaining a clinical environment, conducting visual acuity testing, visual field testing, lensometry, auto refractometry, pupil assessment, extraocular motility, external examination, applanation tonometry, tonopen, eye drop instillation, diagnostic testing, and participating in patient care. The technician also maintains patient records to ensure an organized workflow.
Monday - Friday, Full Time, No Nights or Weekends
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations: COA, COT, COMT, OSC, CRA, or OCT-C certification required
Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a COA, COT, COMT, OSC, CRA, or OCT-C; proficiency in ophthalmic procedures and testing; experience with electronic health records; some diagnostic testing experience
Knowledge and Skills: In-depth ophthalmic anatomy, physiology, pathology; technical skills with ophthalmic equipment; strong math and science skills; excellent communication; computer proficiency; ability to work independently and in a team
