Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team in Baltimore. On-the-job training is available. Primary tasks include assisting providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures and handling administrative duties.

You will perform visual function tests, dilate eyes, and support inventory management while helping maintain excellent patient care and outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in the medical field with EMR tools preferred.
• Experience as ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and verify patient information.
• Perform visual function tests (tonometry, refraction, retinoscopy).
• Take eye measurements using Humphrey field analyzer and OCT.
• Inform ophthalmologist about changes to a patient’s vision.
• Dilate eyes for exams.
• Explain how to use eye drops or medications.
• Explain how to use contact lenses.
• Assist with inventory management.
