Job summary

University of Miami seeks an Ophthalmic Technician 1 to perform clinical testing, document findings in the EMR, and support providers in patient care. The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and at least one year of relevant experience.

The OT1 provides patient-centric care, adheres to safety and confidentiality policies, and participates in ongoing training and staff development. Evening/weekend shifts and satellite center travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Document and perform tests in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Provide patient-centric care.
• Adhere to UM policies, standards and infection control procedures.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
• Manage scheduling and assist with clinical duties as assigned.
