Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Ophthalmology seeks an Ophthalmic Technician I to support physicians and the eye care team in daily operations at the College Station location. You will perform a range of eye tests, assist with procedures, and contribute to patient education and care coordination.

The role requires at least 1 year of ophthalmology/optometry clinic experience, with a focus on accurate documentation, patient interaction, and adherence to safety protocols in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year ophthalmology or optometry clinic experience preferred.
• Basic computer and EMR familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Document patient chief complaint and medical history accurately.
• Perform testing including visual acuity, tonometry, and ocular motility.
• Draft preliminary glasses prescription via refractometry.
• Assist with minor surgeries, intraocular injections and laser procedures.
• Educate patients on medications and pre/postoperative care.
• Open/close exam lanes and disinfect equipment.
