Job summary

EyeSouth Partners LLC is seeking an ophthalmic technician to support ophthalmologists and optometrists by collecting data on patients’ ocular health and performing clinical tests.

The role requires experience in ophthalmic/optometric settings, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinic. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or the equivalent years related experience preferred.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Ophthalmic and/or optometric technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient chart to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
• Perform testing ordered by doctor and determined by the type of exam scheduled, patient complaint and/or patient history.
• Ability to act as a medical scribe while physician examines patient, entering data into electronic medical records.
• Takes an ocular and systemic history and accurately records visual acuity.
• Administers topical ophthalmic or oral medications under the direction of the physician.
• Ability to assist with simple in-office procedures ensures proper informed consent is obtained.
• Assists with patient education.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of exam rooms during the workday.
• Complies with all practice procedures and protocols. Complies with all State and Federal regulations.
