Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician for Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines. This full‑time role offers 8‑hour shifts between 7am and 11am, Monday through Saturday, with opportunities to float to other sites as needed.

You will perform patient assessments of ophthalmic status, educate patients, maintain infection control, and assist the ophthalmology team that cares for glaucoma, retina, and general ophthalmology patients. Prior ophthalmic experience and scribing ability are valued.

Qualifications

• Current BLS card for Healthcare Professional (AHA).
• One year experience in optometry and ophthalmology.
• Ophthalmic Technician Certificate preferred.
• Completion of certified Ophthalmic Technical program preferred.
• Ability to scribe.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and ophthalmic status evaluations.
• Educate patients and document interactions.
• Practice infection control.
• Contribute to team to ensure quality patient care.
• Manage technician schedules, supplies, medication ordering, and inventory.
