Eye Site of Tampa Bay is seeking an entry level Ophthalmic Assistant to join our Florida team in Clearwater and Trinity. You will be trained on-the-job to assist our providers and support patient care with excellent service.

The role requires outstanding communication, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Travel between offices is required, and a high school diploma or GED is necessary to apply.

Qualifications

  • Required: High school diploma or GED and excellent computer skills.
  • Preferred: Medical experience or EHR familiarity.
  • Ophthalmic terminology knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Providers and staff by preparing patients for examination with care.
  • Perform ophthalmic testing using diagnostic equipment.
  • Review past records and verify patient documentation.
  • Confirm patient identity at the time of service.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and test results in the EHR.
  • Travel between Clearwater and Trinity offices as required.

Description Eye Site of Tampa Bay is looking for a motivated team player with a positive attitude and exceptional customer service skills for an entry level position for our Florida office locations, Clearwater and Trinity. The ideal candidate will be trained on-the-job as an ophthalmic technician to assist our providers. Full-time, M-F, EOE, background check and drug testing.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Perform as a valued, team member by assisting Providers and Certified Ophthalmic Assistants through preparing patients for examination using excellent customer service talent and technical training learned.
  • Perform ophthalmic testing using state of the art ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
  • Review past records in preparation of current visit; confirm patient documentation is in chart.
  • Confirm patient identity per company protocol at time of service.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, document patient records, perform and upload testing with accuracy.
  • Ensure proper authorizations/referrals are in place if additional testing is required.
  • Proactively participate in maintaining efficient office workflow through personal effectiveness.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Requires travel to both offices.
