Job summary

Marion Eye Centers in Carbondale is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our patient-focused team. You will assist doctors with exams, perform preliminary tests, and help maintain a smooth clinical flow.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry into EHR, patient education on eye health and post-procedure care, keeping exam rooms stocked and clean, and supporting the team with multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in eye care or medical office preferred, but training provided.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented with focus on patient care and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, obtain medical histories, and prepare them for exams.
• Perform preliminary eye tests such as visual acuity, refraction, visual fields, and tonometry.
• Assist doctors with eye exams, minor procedures, and treatments.
• Maintain and clean instruments and equipment.
• Educate patients on eye health, medications, and post-procedure care.
• Enter accurate data into EHR.
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked and organized.
• Support a smooth clinical flow by coordinating with doctors and other team members.
