Community Healthcare Network seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to support patient care in Jamaica, Queens. The role focuses on patient flow, testing, and documentation to assist physicians in diagnosing eye disorders.

Formación

• Associate Degree with coursework in Biomedical Technician field and 3 years of related hospital or health facility experience.
• High School diploma or GED with 4 years of related bio-medical technical field experience.
• Current COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Acquaints all new patients with office procedures.
• Obtains patient history including chief complaint, history of present illness, past history, family history, allergies and medications.
• Inform patients of the purpose of tests performed and how results affect them.
• Responsible for all pre-exam elements of the patient visit.
• Test and record far and near visual acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception.
