Job summary

Azul Vision in Fullerton, CA is seeking an Ophthalmology Technician to join our busy clinic. You will perform patient intake, obtain medical histories, assist in diagnostic testing, and help prepare patients for laser procedures.

This in-person role requires at least a high school diploma, 2+ years of ophthalmology tech experience if possible, and familiarity with EHR systems. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus; travel to multiple LA/OC locations may be required up to 50%.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ Ophthalmology Technician experience preferred.
• Ability to type 45 wpm.
• Advanced understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations.
• COA/COT certification preferred.
• Experience with EHR systems preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact professionally with patients, doctors, and staff.
• Accurately communicate pertinent information to patients.
• Complete medical histories and diagnostic testing.
• Triage calls and assist in minor procedures.
• Prepare patients for laser procedures (blepharoplasty, injections, YAG, SLT).
• Document patient education in charts and maintain confidentiality.
• Cross-train in back and front office procedures.
• Maintain back-office inventory and supplies.
