Job summary

SightMD in New Jersey is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support physicians with clinical and administrative duties, including patient prep, screening exams, and instrument maintenance.

The role requires COA certification (or enrollment within one year) and a high school diploma, plus strong customer service and organizational skills. Rotating schedule includes evenings and some weekends; hourly pay is $22.50 with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• COA certification required or enrolled within one year and completion within two years of hire.

• HIPAA awareness and patient privacy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and document chief complaints and history.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures.
• Perform pre-exam testing including visual acuity, tonometry, and dilation.
• Administer eye medications and educate patients on use of meds.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and patient instruction.
• Maintain inventory and-cleaning of ophthalmic instruments.
