Job summary

Duly Health and Care is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our ophthalmology team. You will collect patient history, perform tests, and document results in the EMR while guiding patients through visits with professionalism and care.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in ophthalmology, a COT or pursuing certification, and strong attention to detail. Role requires on-site work across Downers Grove, Hinsdale and nearby clinics.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or in process of getting certification.
  • Must obtain COT certification within one year of employment.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in ophthalmology/optometry.
  • Experience with standard ophthalmic evaluation equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Collect patient history including chief complaint, history of present illness, past history, family history, allergies and medications.
  • Perform extensive data collection to assist diagnosis as delegated by the physician.
  • Interact with patients with respect and professionalism throughout visits.
  • Explain processes and procedures taking place during the visit to patients.
  • Maintain the EMR with accurate, concise documentation.
  • Assist in keeping exam rooms clean and instruments sterilized.
  • Provide telephone support for ocular emergencies, refills and patient care questions.
  • Adhere to approved policies and HIPAA compliance.

Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
