Job summary

Cayuse Holdings is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to provide clinical support for military service members, retirees, and dependents. You will perform advanced tests, assist in refractive/surgical procedures, and ensure high-quality patient care in a demanding setting.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, instrument sterilization, and collaboration with the care team to maintain safety and efficiency in the clinic. U.S. citizenship and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of full-time ophthalmic technician experience.
• Knowledge of ocular physiology, anatomy, pathology, optics, and refraction principles.
• Understanding of ophthalmic procedures, instrumentation, and techniques.
• Familiarity with refractive surgery procedures and tests.
• Proficiency with automated diagnostic systems and ophthalmic imaging.
• Two letters of recommendation (minimum one from a practicing ophthalmologist).
• Current vaccinations: influenza, varicella, MMR, TDAP, Hepatitis B.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostic ophthalmic tests including vision, color, lensometry, autorefraction, and visual field testing.
• Assist with ophthalmic and refractive surgery procedures and pre/post-operative care.
• Coordinate and optimize patient flow for examinations and follow-ups.
• Maintain clean, stocked examination rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Operate automated systems (ADS, Essentris, MHS GENESIS, CIS) and manage data entry.
• Provide professional, empathetic patient care and clear communication throughout procedures.
