Job summary

EyenamicsNY in Forest Hills, NY is hiring entry-level technicians to support ophthalmology and optometry care. You will work with doctors during patient exams, tests, and clinical care, with training provided from day one.

No prior experience required; roles train you to operate imaging devices and perform diagnostic tests while gaining exposure to neuro-ophthalmology and glaucoma care.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Patient-focused attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn.
• For scribing duties: typing speed of at least 60 WPM.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctors directly during patient examinations, testing, and clinical care.
• Assist with pre- and postoperative care for surgical patients.
• Operate advanced imaging (OCT, ERG, UBM, B-scan, widefield fundus photography).
• Conduct diagnostic testing (autorefraction, lensometry, visual acuity, visual fields, aberrometry, topography, biometry, specular microscopy).
• Document patient encounters in real time as a medical scribe.

Join EyenamicsNY, a collaborative ophthalmology and optometry practice in Forest Hills. We hire both gap-year students and career technicians, and we train from scratch. You'll work alongside experienced optometrists and Dr. Robert Rothstein, a fellowship-trained neuro-ophthalmology and glaucoma specialist.

Less than a 5-minute walk from the E/F/M/R subway and LIRR.

Employment type: Full-time, 40 hours/week | Seniority: Entry level | Location: Forest Hills, NY

Compensation: $21–$28/hour. Starting rate depends on prior clinical experience. Certified technicians start higher.

The Role

All team members work directly with the doctors during patient examinations, testing, and clinical care. You'll be trained to work up patients and perform diagnostic testing. No prior experience needed; everything is taught here. Duties are tailored to each person's abilities, experience, and the needs of the practice.

What You'll Do

• Conducting diagnostic testing, including autorefraction, lensometry, visual acuity, visual fields, aberrometry, corneal topography, biometry, and specular microscopy
• Documenting patient encounters in real time as a medical scribe
