Responsibilities

  • Obtain and record accurate patient history (chief complaint, ocular history, family history, systemic illness, medications, allergies).
  • Perform basic elements of preliminary eye exams (visual acuity, color vision, lensometry, pupillary reactions, tonometry, slit lamp).
  • Operate ancillary ophthalmic equipment and assist physician at chairside as a scribe.
  • Assist with pre- and post-op care and clinic operations.
