Position: Ophthalmic Technician & Scribe

Location: Glaucoma & Cataract Center of new Jersey, Livingston, NJ

Type: Full-Time

Starting Pay: $25/hour

We’re looking for a friendly and dependable Ophthalmic Technician & Scribe to help us deliver exceptional care in a dynamic, fast-paced ophthalmology clinic. This is a hands-on role where you’ll support both diagnostics and clinical documentation—perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

What You’ll Do:

As a key part of our clinical team, your responsibilities will include:

Performing a variety of advanced diagnostic tests, such as:

Optic Disc Photos

OCT-MAC & RNFL imaging

Corneal topography

Pachymetry

External ocular photography

Visual field testing

Manifest refraction

LenSTAR biometry

Scribing during exams: Document physician findings and patient encounters in real time

Preparing patients and exam rooms for procedures

Ensuring accurate and organized documentation in the EMR system

Helping the clinic run smoothly through strong time management and multitasking

What We’re Looking For:

At least 1 year of experience as an ophthalmic technician or scribe preferred

Proficiency with ophthalmic testing equipment and EMR systems

A team player with excellent communication skills

A sharp eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality patient care

Someone who is professional, dependable, and eager to grow in the field

Schedule:

Tuesday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (occasional days until 6:30 PM)

Monday hours are flexible/negotiable upon request
