Job summary

Empire Eye Clinic in Spokane Valley is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our progressive ophthalmic practice. You will support providers with ophthalmic procedures, manage room flow, and communicate status to patients and clinicians.

The ideal candidate has basic medical terminology knowledge, strong teamwork, and excellent communication. We offer on‑the‑job training, a patient‑focused environment, and opportunities to grow within a diverse clinical team.

Qualifications

  • Basic medical terminology knowledge required.
  • Able to multitask and work in a team environment.
  • Familiar with HIPAA procedures and policies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office or G-Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers in ophthalmic procedures, room flow, and status communication.
  • Ensure the patient understands all instructions.
  • Take and document patients' medical histories.
  • Operates ophthalmic equipment.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain ophthalmic instruments or equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist providers in performing clinical functions such as ophthalmic procedures, room flow, and status communication to the patient and provider
  • Ensures the patient understands all instructions.

  • Operates ophthalmic equipment
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain ophthalmic instruments or equipment.
Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Problem-solving math skills
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite or G-Suite
  • Effectively work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated multitasking and adaptability
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with communication via phone, internet, and in-person
  • Ability to maintain and follow HIPAA procedures and policies
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year experience as an ophthalmic assistant preferred
