Job summary

Heart of America Eyecare P.A. is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in Kansas. The role focuses on patient interviewing, charting, and assisting with diagnostic testing in a fast-paced clinic.

Ideal candidates have eye anatomy knowledge and experience with ophthalmic testing (HVF, lensometry, keratometry, tonometry). EMR proficiency is required; travel to nearby practices may be needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced clinic environment.
• Ability to interview patients and document histories accurately.
• Ensure charts are updated and accurate.
• Knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, and ocular medications.
• Experience with HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers, Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, and Refracting.
• Proficient with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a fast-paced clinic and support patient flow.
• Record patient histories and update charts.
• Perform diagnostic tests and enter data into EMR.
• Support clinicians with testing and patient care duties.

To help us continue to achieve our goals, we are seeking a Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing dynamic team! This is a Monday - Friday, Day Shift position... No Weekends and No Holidays!

Occasional travel expected to Overland Park and Shawnee Mission practices as needed

• Experienced in a fast-paced clinic environment.
• Efficient and accurate at interviewing patients and documenting histories.
• Able to ensure charts are updated and accurate.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, and ocular medications.
• Experienced with HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers,
• Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, and Refracting.
• Proficient with EMR computer programs.

Requirements

Candidate must:

• Have some Refractions experience
• Experience in checking overall vision, identifying chief complaint
• IOP
• various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visuals)

• Tech savvy with strong Microsoft Office knowledge
• Certification is a plus
