Job summary

Heart of America Eyecare P.A. is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our Shawnee Mission/Overland Park area practice. This full-time, day-shift position emphasizes accurate patient histories, refractions, and ocular measurements using HVF, lensometry, keratometry, tonometry, and OCT.

The ideal candidate brings experience in a busy clinic, EMR proficiency, and a strong commitment to patient care. Occasional travel to Overland Park and Shawnee Mission sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with refractions and diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visuals).
• Ability to check overall vision and identify chief complaint.
• Familiarity with IOP and ocular measurements.
• Strong communication and patient-care focus.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and document histories.
• Ensure charts are updated and accurate.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and ocular medications.
• Operate ophthalmic instruments and EMR systems.
• Assist with HVF, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers.

At Heart of America Eyecare P.A. we are an ophthalmology practice servicing the surrounding communities of Shawnee Mission and Overland Park, KS as well as Belton, MO. To help us continue to achieve our goals, we are seeking a Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing dynamic team! This is a Monday - Friday, Day Shift position... No Weekends and No Holidays!

Occasional travel expected to Overland Park and Shawnee Mission practices as needed

• Experienced in a fast-paced clinic environment.
• Efficient and accurate at interviewing patients and documenting histories.
• Able to ensure charts are updated and accurate.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, and ocular medications.
• Experienced with HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers,
• Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, and Refracting.
• Proficient with EMR computer programs.

Requirements

Candidate must:

• Have some Refractions experience
• Experience in checking overall vision , identifying chief complaint
• IOP
• various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visuals)
