Sew Eyes Inc, an optical practice in New York, seeks a full-time Ophthalmic Tech to assist with both in-person and telehealth eye exams.

Previous refraction experience required; you will perform pre-testing, upload images, refract for eyeglasses, and explain preliminary results to patients. You will communicate eye health and support a simple telehealth workflow, with growth opportunities and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous refraction experience required
• Strong patient communication skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Communicating with patient regarding eye health
• Performing pre - testing on patients including autorefractor, fundus photos, and visual field
• Upload pre-testing images to computer system
• Refract patient to get eyeglass prescription
• Using telehealth system to have doctor come on screen (very simple)
• Explain preliminary results to patient (deep knowledge of eye not required but a plus)
