Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an Ophthalmic Tech to support diagnostic and treatment procedures for ophthalmic diseases. The Technician/Technologist will coordinate patient care with the Eye Center Manager and manage assigned clinics, assisting Eye Center staff and ophthalmology residents.

Qualifications include ophthalmic technologist certification/licensure, BLS, and RQI certified ophthalmic technician (COT). At least 1 year of ophthalmic experience is required.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; AHA recognized.
• RQI Certification as COT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and treatment procedures for ophthalmic disease.

Job Summary

City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift First (Days) Overview: Flexi/PRN As an Ophthalmic Tech with Sentara, you will be responsible for the performance of procedures for the diagnostic and treatment of ophthalmic disease. With the Manager of the Eye Center for Sight, the Technician/Technologist will coordinate patient care to meet the expectations of the patients and staff. Along with the completion of technical procedures, the Technician/Technologist will manage clinics as assigned. Responsible for providing assistance to the Eye Center staff and Ophthalmology residents.

Qualifications

Education Trade School Graduate- Ophthalmic Technologist Certification/Licensure Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) - Certification - IJCAHPO (International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology) Experience 1 year of ophthalmic experience required. Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $28.58 - $42.90 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
