Job summary

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, is seeking a full-time Manager of Ophthalmic Service for Retina Neuro. The role oversees administrative staff, analyzes clinical data, and leads initiatives to optimize operations and provider support across multiple sites.

You will develop SOPs, dashboards, and reports for leadership, while ensuring efficient scheduling, patient flow, and staff performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent is required.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification preferred (within 1 year).
• COA certification is preferred for ophthalmic operations.
• Minimum 5 years leadership experience in a clinical setting is required.
• Experience supporting physicians and coordinating patient care activities is required.
• EMR experience, with Epic preferred, is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative oversight for ophthalmic specialties and projects.
• Supervise support staff to ensure consistent provider support and patient care coordination.
• Develop SOPs and training materials for department functions.
• Lead initiatives for department growth, budgeting, and process optimization.
• Analyze data; prepare reports and dashboards for leadership.
• Monitor provider productivity, clinic flow, wait times, and scheduling balance.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and department policies.
• Coordinate onboarding of new faculty, residents, and providers.
