Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is hiring a Surgery Scrub Technician to support ophthalmology surgeries in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. You will prepare the operating room, assist with sterile technique, and help the surgeon with instruments and supplies.

The role requires a surgical technologist program graduate, a high school diploma or GED, and excellent communication skills. This safety-sensitive position offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Experience in a surgical environment; ophthalmology experience is a plus.
• Detail oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgery, gathering equipment and supplies and ensuring sterility.
• Assists with washing, shaving and disinfecting the surgical site.
• Sets up and maintains the sterile field with sterile technique.
• Assists with draping, sponging, retracting, passing sterile instruments and supplies.
• Supports the surgeon by anticipating needs and ensuring equipment is available.
• Assists in care or disposal of specimens and wound dressing.
• Helps transfer the patient to and from the operating room.
• Supports the front desk with phones, charts and clerical tasks as needed.
