Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking an Ophthalmic Procedure Technician to support clinic operations, prepare medications for procedures, and assist physicians during eye care treatments. This role requires attention to HIPAA, accuracy, and compassionate patient interaction across AVP’s network of eye centers.

Responsibilities include documenting in EHR, maintaining inventory, and coordinating with care teams to ensure smooth patient flow across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year back-office experience in healthcare.
• Must be computer literate and able to learn EHR workflows.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Preps, logs, and draws up medications for procedures.
• Assists with clinical procedures such as injections and lasers.
• Documents procedures in EHR per workflow.
• Ensures sanitation and sterilization of rooms and instruments.
• Performs OCTs and supports clinic flow.
• Monitors inventory and coordinates with satellite locations.
• Back-up Scribe to Physician and support to other technicians.
• Interacts with patients, staff, and providers professionally.
• Coordinates with referral and benefit teams for insurance approval.
