Florida Vision Institute in Jupiter, FL seeks a motivated Ophthalmic Scribe to document examinations, support patient flow, and coordinate with physicians in a multi-subspecialty ophthalmology practice.

Responsibilities include accurate charting, coding awareness, and educating patients on medications. The role requires clinical tempo, attention to detail, and teamwork in a busy setting.

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly with patients, staff and doctors.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Highly energetic with a positive attitude.
• Must be willing to travel to other offices occasionally to meet business demands.
• Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
• COA/COT preferred but not required; OSC preferred but not required.
• Two years as medical scribe preferred.
• Knowledge of ophthalmology billing/coding strongly preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide accurate documentation and summarization of examinations and recommendations.
• Maintain patient flow and communicate appointment status to patients.
• Document medical visits and procedures as performed by the physician.
• Navigate NextGen software or applicable EHR effectively.
• Open/close exam lanes and ensure equipment is cleaned and ready for use.
• Educate patients regarding medications and follow-up care.
• Assist with inventory and maintenance of ophthalmic equipment.
