Job summary

Ophthalmology Associates in Des Peres, MO seeks an Ophthalmic Scribe to support physicians by documenting visits and procedures in real time and managing EMR records. The role emphasizes accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and efficient clinic flow in a fast-paced eye care setting. Responsibilities include coding assistance, patient data entry, room readiness, and travel to other St.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related experience and/or training.
• Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) preferred but not required.
• Proficient in EMR and image management systems.
• Strong keyboarding and MS Office skills.
• HIPAA confidentiality and patient privacy adherence.

Responsibilities

• Document medical visits and procedures accurately as performed by the physician.
• Operate the EMR system for patient records.
• Input ICD-9 codes and ensure accurate billing details.
• Ensure correct procedure coding and diagnosis coding.
• Anticipate physician needs to facilitate clinic flow.
• Open/close exam rooms and assist with testing to maintain flow.
• Travel between offices as required.
• Maintain discretion and professionalism at all times.
