Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, staff, managers, and doctors.
• Highly energetic with a positive attitude.
• Able to walk and stand for eight hours.

Responsibilities

• Make introductions and establish rapport with patients.
• Initiate patient evaluation and document pertinent ocular findings.
• Accurately document medical visits and procedures.

Skills

Interpersonal skills

Basic computer literacy

Knowledge of ophthalmology billing/coding

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)

Certified Ophthalmic Scribe (OSC)

Two years as medical scribe
