Job summary

Sight360 is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to support physicians by preparing patients and exam rooms, documenting encounters in real time, and aiding clinical flow across locations. Travel between clinic sites and overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience working as an ophthalmic scribe
• Ability to navigate EHR software system
• Working knowledge of ophthalmic and medication terminology, equipment and CPT and ICD-10 coding
• Working knowledge of basic Ocular anatomy
• Certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform and document ocular testing including refractions, tonometry, visual fields, OCTs, and topography
• Prepare patients for examination and assist with patient flow
• Accurately scribe patient visits, treatment plans, and physician discussions
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
• Prepare exam rooms, maintain sterile technique, and coordinate testing and surgical needs
• Communicate physician instructions to patients and referring providers
• Assist with patient calls, pharmacy requests, and general clinical support

Position Summary

The Ophthalmic Scribe assists physicians by preparing patients and exam rooms, performing diagnostic testing, documenting patient encounters in real time, and supporting overall clinical flow and patient care. Travel between clinic locations and/or overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Perform and document ocular testing including refractions, lensometry, tonometry, visual fields, OCTs, topography, Amsler grids, muscle testing, pupil exams, and related diagnostics.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist with patient flow.
• Accurately scribe patient visits, treatment plans, and physician discussions.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms, maintain sterile technique, and coordinate testing and surgical needs.
• Communicate physician instructions to patients and referring providers.
• Assist with patient calls, pharmacy requests, and general clinical support.
