Job summary

OCLI Vision in Huntington, NY is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to support physicians during exams, document real-time interactions, and assist with testing and procedures. This full-time on-site role involves chart preparation, accurate documentation, and patient education to ensure smooth clinic flow.

The ideal candidate communicates well, is dependable, and able to stay calm under pressure while maintaining a team-oriented approach. Prior ocular knowledge is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Outgoing, dependable, and service-oriented.
• Calm under pressure, adaptable to change.
• Positive team player with a can-do attitude.
• Knowledge of ocular pharmacology is a plus (not required).
• Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient charts/EMRs and exam rooms

• Perform ophthalmic testing & work up (visual acuity, tonometry, dilation, OCT, VF, etc.)
• Educate patients on procedures, testing, and prescriptions
• Audit charts for accuracy

THE OPPORTUNITY

Ophthalmic Scribes play a key role in supporting our providers and patients. You’ll accompany physicians during exams, document real-time patient interactions, and assist with testing and procedures.
