Job summary

Advocate Health Care seeks an experienced ophthalmic technician to support direct patient care in our ophthalmology clinic. The role focuses on refraction, refinement, and imaging to determine accurate prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses.

The candidate will perform manifest refraction, refine Rx, conduct tonometry, and assist with ocular imaging, while maintaining EMR documentation and coordinating with physicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3–5 years experience in Ophthalmology with proficiency in refracting and applanation tonometry.
• CPR certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform manifest refraction and refinement with Sphere, Cylinder, Axis.
• Use Goldmann Applanation Tonometry to measure intraocular pressure.
• Complete 4 steps of refinement and assess auto-refraction data.
• Possibly perform fundus photography and Ascan biometry.
