Job summary

EyeSouth Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Photographer to join our clinical research team in Florida. The role involves obtaining ophthalmic images (photography, OCT, and related modalities) and securely storing/transmitting data per protocol.

You will also coordinate ETDRS BCVA activities and support IRB‑related procedures. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands‑on ophthalmic photography experience, relevant certifications, and strong teamwork and communication skills to support

Qualifications

• 5+ years of ophthalmic photography experience in clinical settings.
• Certification in CRA/COT/OCT-C; training in ETDRS BCVA.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Obtain ophthalmic images (photography, OCT, angiography) and manage data per protocol.
• Perform single and stereo fundus photography and related imaging.
• Coordinate ETDRS BCVA procedures and ensure accurate record keeping for clinical trials.
• Maintain compliance with IRB frameworks and complete required certifications.

Job description

Retina Care Specialist of Florida offers state‑of‑the‑art vitreoretinal care, all physicians have trained at the most renowned and respected retina and ophthalmology programs in the world. This practice offers various Diagnostic Procedures as well as focusing on disorders of the eye.

We are now hiring an Ophthalmic Photographer. This person will work as part of a team of clinical research coordinators to implement clinical research. They will specifically be responsible for obtaining ophthalmic images (photography, OCT, other) and storing/transmitting the images per protocol. This candidate will also serve as the primary BCVA ETDRS coordinator.

This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision‑making.

Photography skills include

• Identify and image ocular anatomy for diagnostic and documentary photography
• Perform single and stereo fundus photography
• Photograph posterior pole through and around dense or opaque media
• Slit lamp and gonio photography
• Perform Angiography and obtain images (both FA and ICG)
• Red free posterior pole and stereo imaging
• Fundus Autofluorescence and diffuse external photography
• Complete CITI certification and work within the framework of an IRB for clinical trials and studies
• Certify for assigned clinical trial photography studies
• Complete images and other duties as assigned
• 5+ years experience
• Required CRA/COT/OCT-C Certifications (One of these are required)
• Training in clinical ophthalmic photography
• Training and experience in phlebotomy, specifically venipuncture
• Hands on experience in clinical research ophthalmic photography, including certification as a photographer for clinical trials, is preferred
• Training and certification in ETDRS best corrected visual acuity
• Meticulous record keeping and organizational skills
• Careful attention to detail in all research procedures
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent judgment
• Ability to work as part of a team and coordinate research procedures with co‑workers is essential
