Job summary

Lakeside Surgery Center/Ascend Vision Partners is seeking a full-time Surgical Technician (certified or non-certified) to support an ambulatory surgery center specializing in ophthalmology procedures in Orlando, FL.

The role involves preparing operating rooms, sterilizing equipment, assisting surgeons and nurses during procedures, and maintaining a sterile environment to ensure the highest standard of patient care.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of operating room experience as a surgical technician/technologist.
• Certification as a surgical technician.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
• Knowledge of sterile processing standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Fosters a positive and successful working environment with team members, leadership, and providers.
• Prepares the operating room for surgery by setting up equipment and ensuring a sterile environment.
• Sterilizes and maintains surgical instruments and equipment.
• Prepares patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites and positioning them on the table.
• Assists with patient transport to and from the operating room.
• Applies dressings and bandages after surgery.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants.
• Assists in inventory management and restocks room after procedure.
• Maintains accurate records of surgical procedures and supplies.
• Monitors and assesses operating room conditions.
• Participates in direct patient care including maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
